Torwell Supports 3D Printing During Typhoon 2025.09.25

During Typhoon Hagibis, 3D printing filament manufacturer Torwell Technologies executed a critical 36-hour emergency supply operation. "Help calls started pouring in from early morning," recalled General Manager Duan. "Hospitals needed to print medical parts but were running out of materials." The company immediately formed an emergency team, using all available vehicles to deliver filaments. Employees risked driving through waist-deep floodwaters to transport PLA material to makers printing emergency valves for shelters.

The operation evolved into a community mutual-aid network. When delivery vehicles got stuck, off-road enthusiasts volunteered to help. "We were deeply moved seeing them risking their lives for plastic spools," said one volunteer.

Experts note this crisis highlights the need to include 3D printing materials in urban emergency systems. Torwell Technologies is now discussing an "emergency filament reserve" with authorities.

"These small spools became lifelines in critical moments," said Manager Duan "We proved SMEs can play vital roles during disasters."
